It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved bassist, Natshawn Charity, of Norfolk, Virginia. Natshawn was a dedicated and talented musician whose passion for music touched everyone he encountered. As a cherished member of our band and a committed part of our church community since its inception, his presence was truly inspiring.
Natshawn’s musical journey was marked by excellence and devotion. He studied Master of Music Theory/Composition and Music Media Production/Telecommunications at Norfolk State University, where he also served as an adjunct professor. His contributions extended beyond performances; he was a mentor to many aspiring musicians and a vital part of the Norfolk State University and Marching Legion communities.
Born in Richmond and living in Virginia Beach, Natshawn’s vibrant spirit and love for music left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His loss is profoundly felt by his family, friends, and the wider musical community.
