Joanne Bartlett Baltimore MD | St. Paul’s Pre & Lower School Former Board Chair Has Died

St. Paul’s community mourns the loss of Joanne P. Bartlett, a dedicated educator and leader whose impact spanned over three decades. Joanne joined St. Paul’s School for Girls in 1988, serving as a college counselor, senior class dean, and assistant field hockey coach. She later became an admissions officer, contributing significantly to the school until 1997.

Her commitment to St. Paul’s extended beyond her faculty roles through her service on the Board of Trustees. Elected in 2013, Joanne became board president in 2016 and, two years later, was named the inaugural CEO of the unified St. Paul’s Schools Board of Trustees. Alongside then-Board President Liz Robinson, she played a vital role in guiding the unification of the schools and strengthening their shared mission.

Joanne was also active in the SPSG building project steering committee and received numerous accolades, including the Robert Pollock Trustee Service Award in 2019 and the Green Apple Award in 2024. Her legacy of leadership, collaboration, and unwavering devotion continues to inspire.

In her honor, the Bartlett Family established the Joanne P. Bartlett Endowed Scholarship Fund, supporting talented students passionate about arts and athletics, exemplifying Joanne’s enduring influence on the St. Paul’s community
