Kim Marquez, a Filipino international student studying in Melbourne, is urgently seeking financial assistance after her father’s sudden passing in Australia. Clarito Marquez suffered a massive stroke while visiting his grandson’s birthday, leading to a series of medical emergencies. He was rushed to Monash Hospital in Clayton, where he underwent emergency brain surgery and remained in ICU for three weeks before being transferred to palliative care. Sadly, Mr. Marquez passed away shortly after.
The family now faces overwhelming hospital bills exceeding AUD $130,000, excluding medication and doctor’s fees. As visitors, Mr. and Mrs. Marquez did not have health or travel insurance, adding to their financial burden during this tragic time.
